first up, yes, an actual card!
Seriously, we’ll send you an actual card you can keep in your wallet.
Losing your shit at work? Bring out your Big Feels Club card to remind you of the many fellow cubicle-cryers out there who have one in their wallet too.
Random reminders that you are a viable human
Random big feelsery in your inbox or letterbox on special occasions.
Maybe it’ll be a questionnaire to help you decide whether or not to go to that party. Maybe it’ll be a poster telling you to ‘just ask for help!’ (which we will then instruct you to promptly rip up).
All designed to help remind you that your big feelings make you part of something bigger. Cos sometimes this stuff is too big to carry alone.
YOU’LL BE HELPING US CHANGE THE WORLD
There’s a whole lot of work we never talk about in the newsletter, but whenever we mention it to Big Feels Clubbers in real life, they’re all like ‘tell me more about *that* thing!’
Since we started this club, all sorts of fancy people want our opinions on mental wellbeing. Like the CEO of beyondblue, or the combined mental health commissioners of Australia, NZ, and Canada. And how about that time Honor met Meghan Markle and told her she made a podcast about being suicidal (then watched her slow-motion reaction as she tried to find a polite ‘I’m a royal now’ response to that loaded conversational tidbit).
Feel like the mental health system sucks? Maybe you want to hear more about some of the genuinely hopeful stuff we’re involved with behind-the-scenes. Got things you want these head honcho types to know? Let us know, and we can tell ‘em for ya.
YOU’LL BE KEEPING THIS FEELINGS BOAT AFLOAT (TOOT! TOOT!)
There are very few spaces to talk about messy life stuff, in a real way. The well-meaning desire not to upset anyone can very quickly shut down conversation.
We’re told to ‘just ask for help’. But where can you go to ask, ‘what happens when the help only *kind of* helps?’
We want to continue being an independent, alternative resource for people struggling with big, scary feelings. Somewhere for people who’ve always hoped, just maybe, they’re not broken after all.
As a card-carrying member, you’ll be directly supporting the many hours of work we do to keep this feelings boat afloat, and you’ll be helping us hold this space for others who need it.
*AND* you’ll get to shape what this thing turns into. We’ll give you sneak previews of our upcoming projects, and your feedback will help us decide which things to make next! Woop!
HOW DO I SIGN UP???
The card-carrying membership costs USD$5 per month (about $6.80 Australian, or one and a half coffees a month). You can opt out anytime. And you can choose to contribute more if you’d like.
We’re handling the monthly subscriptions through Patreon (a crowd-funding platform for creators). Click this racy little button below to sign up on our Patreon page, and your official member’s card will be winging its way to you soon.
